Imagine one thoughtful step at a time taken by millions of people. We imagine it, on a local level, because we know that our neighbors in Marin pretty much share our attitude -- we want to do what's right by this incredible place we call home, where nearly 85 percent of the land is basically split 50-50 between open space and acreage for growing organic food; for pasture for raising healthy livestock and happy cows; for olive orchards for oil and vineyards for wine; for reservoirs that quench our thirst and water our gardens; for hiking, biking, and horse trails that lead us to redwood groves and over grassy hills into forests and along creeks where salmon spawn. For trails that take us to the very edge of the North American continent.
Being green, living sustainably — they're both about making conscious choices to protect what we have, not degrade it. From there, that choice can take on a life of its own.
TerraMarin's goal, as a local guide and resource, is to make those clean, and healthier, choices easier by focusing our coverage only on green and sustainable topics, which is about the easiest job in the county, because in Marin, the grass is already a bit greener. All we hope to do is deepen the hue by celebrating what's being done locally on behalf of the planet.
At the heart of our community coverage: inspiration by example.
